The Eroica Gaiole in Chianti

Gaiole in Chianti and the dirt roads of the province of Siena are now ready to welcome cyclists arriving for the new one Edition of L'Eroica, the poem written with the bicycle that Giancarlo Brocci conceived in 1997 to experience the emotions of the "beauty of fatigue and the taste of business", which over time have become values appreciated all over the world.

L'Eroica 2022 it will take place in two days; Saturday 1st and Sunday 2th of°October, cyclists enrolled in the two most demanding routes will ride; 209 and 135 kilometers starting at 4.30, for those who will participate in the saddle of a bicycle built before 1930. Soon after, that is at 5.00 in the morning, therefore, still with dark conditions, all the others will start. Sunday 2th of° October, at a more convenient time, it will be the turn of the cyclists of the other three available routes; 46, 81 and 106 kilometers.

Telling all the wonders that one passes through is almost impossible. Let's try to give an idea. In the Chianti area: Gaiole and Castelnuovo Berardenga, the jewel of Radda and the castle of Brolio. In that of the Crete: Siena, Buonconvento, Murlo. Then Montalcino in the Brunello area. In Val D'Orcia: Pienza, San Quirico, Bagno Vignoni. And not satisfied with this wonder, starting from Murlo you can also take the ring in the Val di Merse between the medieval villages of Chiusdino, Monticiano, Radicondoli. In between, scenarios to be enjoyed slowly, landscapes that still make one think of the magnificent ones that are the backdrop to the Renaissance masterpieces. And when you stop, the wines and dishes alone are a good reason to take the tour.
